buying records

April 11, 2009

Well… just a little rant :p

Last year i bought the Ida Maria debut album, and i’ve been listening to it quite a bit. Great album, and no regrets parting with my money. I do, however, find it very annoying that using spotify i found out that the international (or perhaps its the UK edition only) have 2 extra tracks… wtf.. One of the tracks is recorded live, “we’re all going to hell”, and its one of the better songs on the album.  Now i have to buy the international album if i want it in my car or on the mp3 player, or i could download it… you guess what the solution is gonna be…

Why can’t we get the same product all over the world, just like different DVD releases with different extra material and such. Just pisses me off a bit. Why should some regions be worse off than others?  Just as the different extras annoy me, so does the different release dates… In this day and age, people do discuss movies and tv series over the Internet the hour it is released, so it just isn’t going to work trying to have different dates for the release. People will just download and watch so they can be part of the discussions before the movie too old for anyone to bother talking about it any more :)
